I have a favor, if possible, can someone, who knows, neatly write all the letters of aksar mul for me? That includes vowels and all the subscripts. I do not know it and am curious to see what all the letters look like and how it differs from the other styles of Khmer script. I'm refering to the one where Kar looks like this:
What is Aksar Moul? Is it a double Aksar?
It is similar to the style used in sutras and tattoos, but several letters are different in appearance. I believe this style is closest to Angkor script, correct me if I'm wrong though.
These are real Khmer aksar mul from Khmer Smart Writers:
Well, that is not actually aksar mul according to "The Cambodian System of Writing" by Frank Hoffman. It mentions that a lot of people are confused when it comes what aksar mul actually is. What you posted is actually a hybrid of aksar khom (a little modernized than the traditional aksar khom) and the traditional aksar khom is used for tattoo and sutra. Aksar mul is not actually what most people think it is.
I have never heard of such thing, but again, it could be that I don't know about of Pali or old writing....
Isn't this ahksar chlak?
This may help you, hopefully:)
Nope nope. Thanks very much though. I have all the Khmer fonts that I was able to download online so those fonts are very familiar to me. I've yet to see a Khmer font with the style I want.
I do not believe we currently use such stylelike the one you posted. It has been long abandoned. And that's the reason it's hard to search for. Butyou'd never know it could exist some where in anyrecord stored in Khmer library in srok Khmer. Luck 2U.
this khmer font looks exactly like the ancient khmer script.. i think thats what dara has been looking for..
This website has some nice fonts www.khmerenaissance.info. Go check it out, where you'll probably find the style you like.
looks like a number 3 with hair and no shoes.
